Hello

I'm Nicola Morley, a qualified psychotherapist based in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, offering talking therapy to adults.

I welcome clients into a safe environment, with compassion, acceptance and authenticity

A long term interest in the human condition has led me to gain a PGDip in Counselling and Psychotherapy, a BA in Theology and Philosophy, and an MA in Photographic Arts, specialising in trauma, loss and endings.

My services are open to all and I can assist clients with a wide range of issues, even those which may not initially seem to be connected.

How we work together matters to me, which is why I offer a 15 minute free telephone or video consultation before we start therapy.

Frequently asked questions

How long are the sessions?

Our sessions are 60 minutes long

How long will I need therapy?

This is entirely up to you and can be tailored to your needs and schedule.

How soon will I get an appointment?

My aim is to offer a first appointment, known as an initial assessment, within 1-2 weeks. During that session we would discuss my availability and your preferred time slots.

Is everything I say confidential?

Everything that is said within the counselling room is private. This is one of the main ways therapy differs from talking to a friend or relative.

Note that there are some situations where you may be a risk to yourself or others, and there the law requires that I notify an authority; in these cases I may not be able to keep total confidentiality. Breaking confidentiality is very rare though, and only happens after the person concerned has been informed.

Can I bring a friend or relative with me?

Usually I am asked this question by people who are nervous about entering into counselling, or when they are looking for support in coming to see a therapist. This anxiety is understandable, but a key aspect of therapy is that you should feel free to talk about any issues you feel are important to you. Having someone else with you who can be connected these issues makes this opening-up more difficult, so for this reason I do not see clients accompanied by friends or family.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Your appointment time is reserved just for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice. This allows me to offer that time to another client who may be waiting.

For no-show or missed appointments, the full fee will apply.

Exceptions may be made for emergencies so please get in touch if something unexpected comes up.

If you're running late to a session, please let me know.

If a situation arises that you cannot attend your in person session, an online session can be offered as a last minute alternative.

Can I contact you between sessions?

Feel free to reach out by email or message for things like scheduling or other practical matters. For therapeutic concerns, I recommend bringing them to our next session, where we can give them the time and attention they deserve.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes, I offer online therapy via video link.

Nicola offered me time and space to open up and say what I feel and all about what is troubling me.
